When it comes to sugar, I have NO self control. I've never been one of those people who can have "just one bite" and be satisfied. A reasonable serving size of cake? Wait...I am supposed to share this?
When I was in college, I thought that if I worked out hard enough, I could compensate for my diet filled with refined carbs, heavy starches, sauces, SUGAR... Back then, I was spending hours on the treadmill, fighting my body while destroying any progress I had made by not refueling properly afterwards.
Finally, after years of the number on the scale swinging up and down over a 20-pound spread, I made some drastic changes to my diet and started to see the permanent changes in my body.
This is my story about how swapping dates and maple syrup for white sugar and corn syrup has changed my life; about how I eat dessert almost every day without breaking my diet; about how, by trading out almond flour and protein powder for white flour, and I found a way to have my cake (mine...not sharing) and eat EVERY. SINGLE. BITE.
This blog is about my adventures without sugar (at least in the traditional sense), and maybe a few slip-ups along the way. Life is about balance, after all.
Welcome to my life: UNsugar'd.
